Who Are We?
Aerospace Training Services was established in 1996 to provide quality aviation maintenance training and training support to Australian General Aviation, Regional Passenger Transport industries and the aviation elements of the Australian Defence Force.
As the company has grown Aerospace Training Services has developed a dedication to providing initial aviation training to young people through its innovative Higher School Certificate programs, aviation traineeships, external studies for long distance students and its apprenticship training programs, and more recently the eLearning online platforms which allow even further flexible delivery options for students and employers.
ATS's head office is located in Nowra at the (First Floor) 112A Albatross Road, Nowra, 2540. 2Â½ hours from Sydney on the NSW picturesque south coast.
ATS also has office locations at the Historical Aircraft Resotration Society (HARS) museum at the Illawarra Regional Airport, Albion Park Rail.
Aerospace Training Services is committed to the educational needs of both individuals and companies throughout all levels of the aviation industry by providing quality nationally recognised and accredited aviation training.
With the Higher School Certificate course being implemented within local schools for well over a decade and the apprenticeship training program underway, more young Australians have the opportunity to start their careers in the maintenance sections of the aviation industry, ensuring the continual development and growth of the Australian aviation industry as a whole.

After completing 20 years service with the Royal Australian Navy as an airframe/engine technician, Ken Mitchell retired as a Warrant Officer in January 1997. He has extensive experience in both workshop and operational aviation environments as well as aviation training analysis, design, implementation and evaluation.
Ken has been a training consultant to the RAN units involved in a range of training development and evaluation programs covering mechanical, electrical systems and navigation courses.
Ken has an extensive range of skills relating to management, training and competency based education.
Dr. Theresa Mitchell
(Director & Training Manager)
Theresa has over 20 years experience within the computer science field relating to software engineering, microcomputers, computing systems and databases. She has developed a wide range of computer software and database systems which have been implemented by ATS.
Theresa has a Master of Professional Education and Training in which her main focus was the understanding of adult learning. She also posseses a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Theresa recently graduated from Wollongong University with a PHD within the field of education.
With experience as a mathematics teacher for TAFE and HSC tutoring in mathematics, physics and computing, Theresa has a lot to offer ATS in a wide range of areas.

Since then ATS has extended its training to include apprenticeship and traineeship programs, and a Higher Schools Certificate (NSW) program designed to introduce students to the aviation industry.
ATS's primary training facility is located at Level 1, 112A Albatross Road, Nowra, 2540.
Accommodation for students is available a short distance from our facilities in Nowra.
