Apprenticeship Courses
Our apprenticeship courses are for both mechanical and avionics students who wish to enter the aviation engineering industry. Although the Certificate IV in Aeroskills courses are designed for apprentices, you are not required to enter into an apprenticeship to gain this qualification. It is however highly advised to seek apprentice training to complete this course so you are able to gain all the practical components required.
Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) - MEA40718
The Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) course is tailored to clients who wish to enter the aviation industry as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to provide them with the ability to perform scheduled inspections, repair and diagnosis faults, understand and work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components and complete airframe mechanical duties. This certification, depending on the units of competency selected, can be used to as credit towards a MEA50219 Diploma of Aeroskills (Mechanical) which allows the student to apply for a CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence.
There are two (2) streams which can be achieved when completing this certification:
Aircraft Maintenance Stream
Total of twenty-one (21) units
- Core common and imported units: Eight (8) units
- Elective technical stream units from Group A: Thirteen (13) units
Component Maintenance Workshop Stream
Total of fourteen (14) units
- Core common and imported units: Eight (8) units
- Elective technical stream units from Groups B and C: Six (6) units

Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) - MEA40618
The Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) course is tailored to clients who wish to enter the aviation industry as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to provide them with the ability to perform scheduled inspections, repair and diagnosis faults, understand and work aircraft electrical, instrument and radio systems and system components. This certification, depending on the units of competency selected, can be used to as credit towards a MEA50118 Diploma of Aeroskills (Avionics) which allows the student to apply for a CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence.
There are two (2) streams which can be achieved when completing this certification:
Aircraft Maintenance Stream
Total of twenty-five (25) units
- Core units consisting of common, imported and some avionic technical stream units: Twelve (12) units
- Elective technical stream units from Group A: Thirteen (13) units
Component Maintenance Workshop Stream
Total of sixteen (16) units
- Core units consisting of common, imported and some avionic technical stream units: Thirteen (13) units
- Elective technical stream units from Groups B: Three (3) units
